We went fully remote in 2024 and haven’t looked back. The things that have made it work aren’t complicated: async communication by default, one or two short meetings per week instead of daily standups, and written updates over status calls. The biggest surprise has been how much more focused the team is without an office full of interruptions. It’s not perfect — spontaneous collaboration is harder — but the tradeoffs have been well worth it for us.
